The Midtown Veterinary Hospital Wellness Program in Victoria provides structured preventive care for dogs and cats at every stage of life. Each plan brings together the core services your pet needs at their current life stage, including wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite assessments, nutritional guidance, and other preventive care, in a framework that helps you stay consistent with your pet’s health needs year over year. Open Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12 PM to 8 PM on Burnside Road, our team is here to support your pet’s health from their first puppy or kitten visit through their senior years.
The Puppy Wellness Plan covers the critical first year of your dog's life, when foundational health decisions have the greatest long-term impact. The plan includes your puppy's full vaccine series, typically beginning at 6 to 8 weeks and completed at 16 weeks, fecal parasite screening and deworming, flea and tick prevention guidance, a nutritional assessment and feeding plan, weight monitoring, and discussions about spay and neuter timing, socialization, behavior, and dental care. Puppy visits are also an opportunity to ask questions and build a relationship with your veterinarian. We offer puppy first-year guides to complement your plan.
The Kitten Wellness Plan provides a structured approach to your kitten's first year, covering their FVRCP and rabies vaccine series, FeLV and FIV testing before any introduction to other cats, fecal parasite testing and deworming, flea prevention, nutritional guidance appropriate for rapid feline growth, litter box guidance, behavioral recommendations for introducing a kitten to a home with other pets, and spay or neuter planning. Kittens require more frequent visits in their first year to complete their vaccine series, and these visits are also a valuable opportunity to catch any congenital concerns early.
The Adult Pet Wellness Plan maintains your dog or cat's health through their mature years with an annual wellness exam, core vaccine updates as due, parasite prevention review, bloodwork to establish a health baseline and catch early changes in organ function, a dental health assessment, body condition and weight evaluation, and any other preventive services indicated for your pet's age and lifestyle. Many health conditions in adult pets are first detected during routine wellness visits before clinical signs develop, making annual exams one of the most valuable investments in your pet's long-term health. We track your pet's history over time and use it to provide increasingly personalized recommendations.
The Senior Pet Wellness Plan is designed for dogs and cats entering their later years, typically dogs over 7 years of age and cats over 10. Senior pets benefit from twice-yearly wellness visits to catch age-related health changes earlier. The senior plan includes twice-yearly physical examinations, comprehensive senior bloodwork panels covering kidney and liver function, complete blood count, thyroid assessment in cats, urinalysis, blood pressure monitoring, dental health assessment, body condition and muscle mass evaluation, joint and mobility assessment, and a review of any current supplementation or management. Detecting conditions such as kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or arthritis early allows management to begin before significant quality of life impact.
A puppy wellness visit includes a full physical examination, vaccination appropriate to your puppy’s age and history, a fecal parasite check, deworming if indicated, flea and tick prevention guidance, a weight and growth assessment, nutritional recommendations, and time to answer your questions about puppy care, socialization, and spay or neuter timing. Call (778) 775-8387 to book your puppy’s first visit.
We generally recommend twice-yearly wellness visits for dogs over 7 years of age and cats over 10. Large and giant breed dogs age more quickly and may benefit from more frequent monitoring starting around 5 to 6 years of age. Health conditions in senior pets can progress significantly between annual visits, and more frequent assessment allows earlier intervention.
Bring a fresh stool sample collected within 24 hours if possible, any previous vaccination records if your pet is new to our clinic, a list of any supplements or veterinary products your pet is currently receiving, and any specific concerns or questions you have. If your pet is on any long-term management, bring that information as well. New clients are welcome.
Yes, you can bring multiple pets to one appointment. Please let us know when booking how many pets are coming so we can schedule appropriate time. Each pet will receive their own full examination. Booking in advance rather than walking in is especially appreciated for multi-pet visits.
